The new generation of soccer players brings hope to the fields and to the spectators of the sport. With Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo leaving a legacy, Jamal Musiala emerges as one of the promising talents poised to take over as one of their successors.
Jamal Musiala is a German professional soccer player born on February 26, 2003.
Born on 26 February 2003 in Stuttgart, the capital of the German state of Baden-Württemberg, Jamal Musiala grew up surrounded by football. His father, Daniel Richard, was a soccer player in Nigeria. He moved to England at the age of seven, attending Whitgift School in Croydon.
From a young age, Musiala trained in England, where he played for Southampton and Chelsea. At just 15 years old, the German star was already part of Chelsea's U-18 squad. In 2019, he returned to his birth country to join Bayern Munich's youth team, where he quickly stood out.
Musiala's professional career took shape at Bayern Munich, the club where, at the age of 18, he was signed until 2026. "I feel very good at the club and with the team. I am playing with the best footballers in the world and I can learn from them daily in training," said a young Musiala who was already starting to be considered at the highest level of German football.
On June 20, 2020, Musiala made his professional debut for Bayern Munich in a 3-1 victory over S.C. Freiburg in the Bundesliga. From that moment, the young Jamal became a key player for the team, eventually becoming the youngest player in history to reach 100 appearances in the German league. He is the youngest to score a goal in the Bundesliga and the youngest to score a goal in the UEFA Champions League.
During his time with the Bavarian team, he won seven national titles and three international titles, including the 2019-20 UEFA Champions League.
Musiala played 163 matches, scored 43 goals, and provided 26 assists in Bayern Munich. He came off the bench in 65 of those appearances.
In the youth categories, Musiala alternated between the England and Germany national teams, but in 2021 he chose to compete at the highest level for the German squad. This led to his call-up and subsequent debut for Die Mannschaft on February 25 of that year, in a victory against Iceland in the qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
In 2021, Musiala was called up to participate in the European Championship. He made his tournament debut in the last group stage match against Hungary, becoming the youngest German to play in the European Championship at 18 years and 117 days old.
Currently, the Bayern Munich player leads the UEFA Euro Cup scoring chart with three goals. In the quarterfinals, Musiala and the German national team will face Spain.
Although his career continues to rise and he is currently a great promise in world football, Musiala has already been part of achievements and titles with Bayern Munich.
Jamal Musiala has won all his titles playing for Bayern Munich.
