June 4, 1998, went down in history as the day when the Los Angeles Galaxy defeated the Dallas Burn 8-1, marking the biggest blowout in MLS history. Harut Karapetyan setted the MLS record for the fastest hat trick with three goals in 5 minutes.
The second most lopsided blowout in history was on July 8, 2022, when the Philadelphia Union defeated DC United 7-0. Julián Carranza scored a hat-trick, while Alejandro Bedoya and Mikael Uhre each netted a brace.
Atlanta started the game with a goal by Josef Martinez in the second minute, who went on to score a hat-trick. The 7-0 victory was rounded off with goals from Anton Walkes, Kevin Kratz, Yamil Asad, and Héctor Villalba. New England suffered the expulsions of Xavier Kouassi and Antonio Delamea Mlinar in the first half. This result was the biggest win in Atlanta United's history and occurred on September 13, 2017.
On May 21, 2016, the largest blowout in the history of the Hudson River Derby took place. The New York Red Bulls thrashed NYCFC 7-0 at Yankee Stadium, with goals from Max McCarty (2), Bradley Wright-Phillips (2), Alex Muyl, Gonzalo Verón, and Gideon Baah. European football legend Frank Lampard made his debut as a New York City FC player that day.
On July 4, 2001, Chicago Fire beat Kansas City Wizards 7-0 at Arrowhead Stadium. Jamar Beasley scored the first goal in the opening minute, while Sergi Daniv and Eric Wynalda added goals in the first half. The rout was completed by braces from Peter Nowak and Hristo Stoitchkov.
Sporting Kansas City defeated Montreal Impact 7-1 on March 30, 2019, at Children's Mercy Park. Krisztian Nemeth scored a hat-trick, while Johnny Russell netted a brace. Felipe Gutierrez and Gianluca Busio rounded off the scoring.
The biggest blowout in DC United's history occurred on July 3, 2021, when the Washington team defeated Toronto FC 7-1. The goals were scored by Kevin Paredes, Nigel Robertha, Raplh Priso (own goal), Paul Arriola, Ola Kamara, Yamil Asad, and Griffin Yow.
On June 29, 2019, Minnesota United recorded a dominant 7-1 victory over FC Cincinnati. The goals came from Ike Opara (2), Hassani Dotson, Ethan Finlay, Angelo Rodríguez, Mason Toye, and Kevin Molino.
On September 11, 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic, Seattle Sounders thrashed San Jose Earthquakes 7-1. Raúl Ruidíaz and Joevin Jones each scored twice, while Jordan Morris, Kevin Leerdam, and João Paulo also contributed to the scoreline.
On September 11, 2022, the most recent blowout in the top 10 biggest MLS victories occurred. FC Cincinnati defeated San Jose Earthquakes 6-0, with goals from Brenner (3), Álvaro Barreal, Luciano Acosta, and Yuya Kubo.
